Is it just me or is the new camera icon a bit… unsettling
The ios26 camera icon. The lens is larger and shinier, but a slick oily shine that makes it feel uncanny. The larger lens seems to scream “you are being watched” as it earnestly stares into the very fiber of the viewer, reminding us that in this day and age, we are constantly under surveillance by our technological vices, a trap that we all willingly marched into, and now even those of us who would wish to opt out are at the mercy of others who go around with cameras constantly pointed in all directions, through things like phones and glasses. There are few places in highly populated areas which are not constantly surveilled, and we are unlikely to ever have true privacy in our lifetimes again. Anyway the lens reminds me of that.
