From what I know that seems valid. I only read the first 10 volumes 15+ years ago.

Neither of them are great options honestly, but if it has to be one I lean towards the former. Personal bias. None of the characters are an obvious fit from what I remember. Plus I haven't watched/read the entire series.

Can you make a case for it? Personally cyberpunk settings and whimsical chocolate factories are like oil and water to me.

Like, I can stretch things as much as I like, but there's very few properties that feel like a natural fit.
