Whatever controls the town might have caused her to experience a “phantom pregnancy” even before Smiley’s death, as she was acting strangely around Ellis— and was about to share her worries with Ellis before they were interrupted by a disagreement at Colony house over food.

They didn’t show her taking a pregnancy test. I think she might have suspected a missed period, which is why she asked Kristi for one. However, they never actually performed it. Kristi just asked questions and concluded, based on symptoms, that she was pregnant—right after Boyd kills Smiley.
