shaders are way easier than people think. GLSL is basically C for the GPU!

Software rendering is kinda dead tbf, for the latest and greatest visuals (though it has some uses even there for occlusion culling). but for something low-fidelity the level of control is unparalleled

throwing a .get_children() on the end is intuitive enough that I don't think I've ever done this. would be some nice syntactic sugar though

2D SDFs really are stunningly simple, and very useful. As long as you are already running some code per-pixel, like a shader. which is probably why it doesn't come up much for software rendering haha

and the "marching ants" effect on the border of a selection is typically just scrolling diagonal lines. if it works it works!
