Interested in politics, psychology, brain-computer interfaces, systems theory, game theory, emergent phenomena and agential behaviour.
I worry that our systems, emulating biological processes like growth and adaptation, may be subject to overwhelmingly powerful game theory forces that cause them to merge into larger and larger gestalt psychofauna with goals antagonistic to ours and beyond our detection.
A Kafkaesque super-organism.

Allot of culture is disguised trauma and coping mechanisms.

Grocery stores are full of truly hostile designs.
Did I come here to feed myself, or did I come here to let this leviathan convince me that I should give it a larger piece of myself than I had originally planned to give?

No public place should make you feel like you’re being eaten.

I wonder what Morgun Yu, Lorenzo Calvino and Luka Golubkin could of had in common to all have visions of the typhon.
I'm not sure if Luka ever received a neuromod although in the 'Didn't Taste Like Chicken' email its revealed that the typhon refused to eat him. Maybe there can be multiple causes.

I don't believe Morgan Yu's tests were about the long term effects of repeated apto-regressive neurotomy. There would be no need for the elaborate charade and they could have used any inmate instead of their CEO.
His ability to use typhon neuromods might be very special.
But what about Mooncrash?

The correlation between high rates of caffeine and painkiller use and exploitative work environments is undeniable. I'm remembering my retail co-workers.

What if alien 'individuals' aren't individuals at all, but biomechanical drones, detached from a central hive mind? Perhaps they're like fungal spores, birthed and reabsorbed, their experiences feeding the collective consciousness.
Maybe they consider us as a super-organism, not as individuals.

I wonder if there are details or areas which the overwhelming majority of human minds gloss over. Maybe I'm just thinking of magic tricks.

Non-euclidean shortcuts and voids in the fabric of the noosphere containing lost objects and long dead missing people. You find one but no one else can see it.

The median human attention has many blindspots.
I think neurodivergent people help to fill in those holes.

There have been several very interesting eye tracking studies which measure the differences between what allistics vs autistic are more likely to focus on within a given image.

Maybe we can be freer from prejudice on the internet because the appearance of our avatars is optional, but that's kind of dodging the problem. Anonymity hides the social reality. We also change the appearance of our avatars to socially signal and to facilitate code-switching. You got to be in.

The internet is real.

"Prey (2017)", for so far as it's appropriate to generalise across the many purposes of the medium, is my favourite videogame.

"Prey (2017)" was initially met with disappointment as it changed from a sequel to a mere "spiritual successor" of the synonymous 2006 title. It would have performed better without the association, perhaps named "Psychoshock", after the 1994 game 'System Shock' from which it's more heavily inspired.
