Happy #Halloween I've been told I look like I should be handing out haunted apple pie, which is a great compliment if you ask me.

Guess who finished their MLC fic that they started roughly a year ago, it me.
He wondered if he'd be able to slip away again now that Fang Doubing had a much clearer idea of what was happening. He knew without a doubt that even if he ran, Di Feisheng would find him, and force whatever cure he'd thought of on him. His days were growing shorter. Did he really want to spend them on the run from people who actually cared? It was strange to know that after all he'd built in his first life that he'd never found truer companions than the runaway son of a minister and his biggest rival. Somewhere his shifu was laughing at him, he just knew it.

Went to the races with dad last night. It's a good thing the track is right down the road because it was such a slow program that we left with 4 races to go and it was after 11 pm. I could still hear them running at 1 am.

It's my birthday. I took the day off from work and asked for no visitors. I crochet a rat to carry my sunglasses, read vol 1 of Ballad of Sword & Wine and generally just chilled. Tomorrow back to work and reality.

My brain actually let me write today. (at work) Have a sneak peak at my bodyguard AU for The First Shot. (will i finish it, or will in languish forever? who knows)
Gu Yiran didn't respond, but he did give Zheng Bei a once over, taking in his sweaty and slightly disheveled appearance. Zheng Bei hoped he liked what his saw despite that then mentally slapped himself, he was here for work, not other things. " I don't suppose I can convince you to head back without me can I?" "Sorry but no. My boss is scarier than any professor. I understand you didn't hire me, but I am still here to do my job." Gu Yiran sighed, "I was worried you might say that." For reasons Zheng Bei didn't want to think about to closely, (getting the tense fake expression off the other man's face), he opened his mouth and said, "I can try calling my boss." "Would you please?" The sense of relief in those three words was unmistakable. Zheng Bei realized that he'd do a lot for a please from the other man. And that he was in so much trouble either way this call went. He cleared his throat and pulled out his phone hitting 1 on the speed dial before putting it up to his ear.
