So, we have a pause of the tariffs, but only for some, under certain conditions, and in any case a 10% tariffs remains, which is 3x higher than the US’s average applied tariffs from the past. So the logic seems to be: unpredictability will bring manufacturing home.

What a nostalgic start of Poland’s EU Presidency. Stuck in a 10km crawling traffic jam at the PL-DE border as Germany decides to reintroduce border controls - something I have not experienced on this route for at least 20 years. Can’t say I missed it.

Polish elections - final results are in:
PiS - 35,38%.
KO - 30,70 %
Trzecia Droga - 14,40%
Lewica - 8,61%
Konfederacja - 7,16%

PiS unable to form a government. Most likely that the 3 democratic opposition parties will take over with 248 seats in the 460 seat Sejm (as compared to 194 for PiS).

Couldn’t help myself but to bring this one over here. Amazing how a bit of good news can change things, when wherever we turn, we see problems piling up.
