I don’t think I realized you’re in NYC and now I’m so jealous you get to vote for Zohran Mamdani
October 28, 2025 at 7:19 PM
Yeah that would be sick! I’ll shoot you a dm sometime. I’ve just left my job so I’m trying to get some ducks in a row and then I’m gonna be off to the idea and research factories 😆

Oh really? I know rpg maker is pretty easy without code but what other engines are beginner friendly? Unity maybe? 🤔 you’ve sparked an interest and I know I wont be able to sit still for long while “funemployed” without getting into something haha

I wish I knew how to make a game! But I was thinking about using this “career break” to learn python. That seems like a good first step maybe!

You are telling me. I just left a well paying corporate job (for many reasons but a big one being) because it was hard to log into work and just pretend like the world isn’t crumbling around me. I hope that you can be motivated by knowing that what you do has an impact on people in times like this!
October 25, 2025 at 3:15 PM
Yes! Y’all have brought me so much joy especially during these insane times that are really freakin tough. I sent your steam url to my good buddy @mikiran.bsky.social who loves tcg mechanics in games :3 tcg isn’t my cup of tea but I’ve still wishlisted and happy to support however else I can!

NOT TO SOUND LIKE A SUCK UP OR ANYTHING, but I love indie devs and solo devs and try to uplift yall whenever I have the opportunity. The last thing I wanna do is plaster misinformation on the internet that can be damaging for yall. 🥰
October 25, 2025 at 2:53 PM
No, rightfully so 😅 haha. I’m in full agreement and unlike most shills on the internet who just like to argue for the fun of it, I enjoy learning new perspectives and taking in new information that I hadn’t preciously considered. Such as: Expedition 33 is AA and technically not indie.
October 25, 2025 at 2:53 PM
For sure. I don’t think that changes my outlook though. I don’t think AAA will die altogether but I do think that gamers are increasingly looking for experiences that are more meaningful and unique than AAA often provides. Capitalism makes it hard for big studios to take risks.
October 25, 2025 at 2:46 PM
Hm. I guess that would be true huh. I’ve seen it widely billed as an indie game coming from an indie studio but you are right that they had resources and funding most indie and solo devs couldn’t attain. Either way, it proved games don’t need massive AAA budgets to be great and full of charm.
October 25, 2025 at 2:35 PM
I legitimately feel like it’s just propaganda to keep big AAA studios relevant. I think the indie piece of the pie is bigger than it ever has been, and ever-growing as gamers start to yearn for more passion and stylization in their games. Expedition 33 proved that in a BIG way, with a small budget.
