Every time I see a pileated woodpecker, for a split second, my brain goes “is that the ivory-billed woodpecker???” and I get sad that I’ll never get to see one 🥲

I went to Assisi when I was 17 (many years ago 😅) and it was one of my favorite places. It looks completely unchanged, which I just love to see.
