Huge congratulations to PhD student Emily Barrett for winning best poster at the RadNet/BRC Biannual Conference. Her work "Characterisation of 3D printed hedgehog filters for proton Bragg peak FLASH", sparked interesting discussion and showcased some of the brilliant work done by our PhD students! 🎉

Another popular activity is radiotherapy bowling, where students try to knock down only the pins marked in red (representing cancer cells) without hitting the plain pins (representing healthy cells) or stuffed toy organs. This helped to understand why some people get side effects from radiotherapy.

Postdoctoral researcher @jenantrobus.bsky.social has been running activities to teach children about DNA and radiotherapy. To learn about DNA, the students made cells out of clay and even extracted DNA from a strawberry!
