It's for a particular sort of person, I think. Someone who squints at a computer screen 16 hours a day every day and finds the eyestrain is less if the monitor brightness and room lighting is low and everything is dark mode. And the photophobic.

It is murder, too, though. And, yes, I know there are legal ways to do a blockade but they involve declarations and limits which we haven't adhered to.

It'd be dangerous to say just because a war isn't legally declared and prosecuted, acts committed during it aren't war crimes. A sea and air blockade of a country by the world's largest military is an act of war regardless of whether Congress makes a declaration.

Do you actually have to hold the values or just proclaim them? If it's the former, I think we may have defined the word out of meaningful existence. I expect most people it is applied to don't actually hold the view they espouse.
