Even with those 16 sets you can basically run a hourly Takt between Strasbourg-Paris daily

Any examples?

Until mid 2000s most TER lines had earlier and later trains, but with less frequency than today

Yes, i am speaking of the exterior

South Korea has a very reasonable and affordable European style high speed/classic long distance rail network. A true example of public service

It is a mystery that why SNCF isn't cleaning their Corails since last years (esp. After covid)

Their other rolling stock, however (AGC,Regiolis, etc) are always fine

SNCF had tried to establish Lyon-Bordeaux Intercités towards 2017-18, but the government prevented them from doing this.

Also, there were once direct TGVs doing Lyon-Bordeaux, but they all got cancelled (or one got cut back to Toulouse) along with the Intercités in 2014.

Flix/BlaBlabus lobbying?

I don't understand the hate towards this new offer.

The only downside is that it is a Ouigo instead of an InOui

I don't think the Illisto model is viable in France, sadly...

SNCF should do it as a public service, in an ideal world
December 5, 2025 at 12:24 AM
They should include the price comparison for Carte Avantage holders...

And i heard that after he got removed from his position he still acted as a "shadow president" with some cadres still loyal to him within the SNCF, esp SNCF Voyages.

So he still had power...

Pepy was also a neoliberal (member of the Institut Montaigne) which modified/degraded lots of things in the SNCF by his pure ideological obsessions

SNCF also were an passenger friendly organization until 2010s.

Looking to old timetables France once had pretty decent intercity/long distance train network

(Regional services were another story)

For example, can you imagine an official from Japan's 100% private railways telling the press, "The Shinkansen is not a public service"? SNCF does this all the time.

What pisses me off the most is that they are a public company, yet they refuse to do so and are proud to act like they are a private company.

And despite they are unused they are still cleaned and maintained regularly.

They are quite in a different state than the humble Corails in TER-200

There were never any rusting TVS 2000s in Haydarpaşa. They were old UIC X cars and old suburban EMUs.

Unused TVS-2000s are stocked in Ankara.

Les droits des passagers en correspondance sont aussi couverts chez Ouigo depuis quelques années

I heard that there will be no commercial stops in France for the Amsterdam- Barcelona...
December 1, 2025 at 4:29 PM
Paris needs a big underground TGV station in the city center...
