My customer Grunwell Cashero asked me to photograph the process and progress of their skilled team renovating the tile ceiling of the Michigan Central Station in Detroit. Here is a shot showing the detail and color variation in the tile.

Here's a photo I made of the Pere Marquette 1225, a 2-8-4 "Berkshire" type steam locomotive built in 1941 for fast-freight service. During World War II, it transported freight and steel between Indiana steel mills and Michigan factories.

Daikin clutch assembly parts for corporate office display. I photographed this in the early '90s long before digital on 4x5 film having stacked the components up in front of a background covered in black velvet. The resulting image was printed as a 40x80 mural for the manufacturer's lobby.

This photo was made for an advertisement. The art director wanted a dark background to place the logo and copy. I shot this in a service hanger using a single light and then punched up the contrast in Photoshop.

What to do when the weather is perfect but the new sod hasn't yet arrived? Rain expected for the next few days and the client needs the photo of the new office by Monday.

I shot a nearby lawn in the same light from the same direction and carefully cut it into the photo in Photoshop. Old school.

Homer, Michigan, a small village in the center of southern Michigan is home to an automotive component manufacturer. The Italian brake company; Brembo finishes rotors at this plant, helping support this rural community. I made this photo for Brembo for use in their marketing.

A few years ago I got a call to photograph a newly completed storage facility. Fortunately the weather was good despite being literally the last day possible to shoot before all the leaves fell. Here in southern Michigan Halloween is the end of season for shooting exteriors with trees.

I made this photo one evening when I arrived early, uninvited to a reception at Meadowbrook Hall, in Rochester Hills, MI. A small orchestra was setting up and hors d'oeuvres were being arranged. The light was perfect over the golf course. There sat a secret prototype car as a prop for the guests.

While shooting the Golden Gate Bridge from a popular high point in the late afternoon the US nuclear attack submarine USS Hammerhead exited the San Francisco bay to go on its extended patrol.
I wanted a nice shot of the bridge with the city behind it and got so much more that day.

I photographed the Stelline, a restaurant, now long closed, in Southfield, MI for the owner Jimmy Schmidt. This was one of my first restaurant shoots as an architectural photographer.
