It's really weird that they're both a gov obsessed with winning the next election with no idea what that entails and that the strategy for an incumbent gov winning an election years down the line might be a bit different to the strategy for an opposition with a poll lead 8 weeks before election day

Sometimes I think I've gone to hell because I've gotten what I wanted, a labour gov with a massive majority and a declining US, opening up a once in a lifetime opportunity for Britain to start clawing back to being a global player and instead we have a gov that wants to be even more declinist

Very odd bit of comms really because they're effectively just using it as broadcast only social media with very limited interaction.

But also if they opened up a channel for people to speak in freely that would be insane so it begs the question of what are you getting out of this?

I think an issue is that governments can directly control taxes and can only indirectly make economy good so you prioritise the former because it feels like you cant do anything about the latter, "well i can directly keep this tax promise and maybe the economy gets good by itself?"
