I think this is one reason why I find it so validating to be useful. It relieves this fear to be working towards giving back, even if it's only a little bit at a time.

I was essentially set up for the opportunity to put my abilities to good use and it just never came to fruition, and I still have yet to make any money off of any of the skills I've accumulated. That's a lot of money I took that just kind of went nowhere. I hope I can make it pay off eventually.
