I’m going through some old high school documents and found this form which pretty much makes me sound like I went to a mutant school of learning

A perfect album for a November morning

Have I told you about the time that I was in Bangor, ME at a cool used bookshop that had mystery graphic novels wrapped in brown paper bags for 6 bucks, so I picked the heaviest one, and it turned out to be this:

Happy Halloween! 🎃

I didn’t get dressed up this year, but here’s a gallery of costumes from the past

Just finished Spider-Man: Miles Morales. What a fun game. Now what to play next?

We’re finally nearing the end of Batman: The Long Halloween: the Last Halloween. And maybe it’s for the best. This book treads water so much on a mystery that feels telegraphed that I hope I’m just blown away by the last 2 issues to make it worth it

This chapter of Christopher Chaos continued to be full of great character beats and high drama. We now have the introduction of Dr. Jekyll but Adam does not like him. This delightfully queer repurposing of monster stories is just so damn good

Comics I read this morning, wrapping up the pull: Something is Killing the Children #43 continues with exploring the Erica and Jessica dynamic. At first I was a little resistant to not pursuing Erica’s story but this issue felt stronger than previous ones and I was right back in it.

Taylor Jenkins Reid’s Atmosphere is a ride. I devoured this novel. I actually forgot about dinner as I was finishing the last third of this. Wow.

Marvel Legends Tuesday with Drax and Moondragon. This is a good set. I much prefer this version of Drax. Heather should have come with some more accessories but the arched eyebrow is a nice touch. Just need a classic Gamora and Pip for a complete Infinity Watch. The question is should I get…

Vision and Scarlet Witch #3 continues their travails in GraveRealm as the Grim Reaper lays traps for V and SW using Viz’a dead son, Vin. Vision learns to use his emotions positively while Wanda’s mentors him through his new powers. This is such a great book!

The Thing #3 has Ben rescue a child who I’m positive has something going on with her, some kind of superpower. But it’s mostly a punch em up with ol’ blue eyes going up against the Wrecking Crew, and then the Juggernaut shows up.

Comics I read this morning: Moon Knight: Fist of Konshu #11 is a breather comic. Celebrating Marc’s 50th birthday, a mysterious guest has shown up that the whole cast welcomes. Moon Knight uses Ginarr to return the soul of the Midnight Mission. For a MK comic, this was is happy and celebratory.
August 12, 2025 at 1:42 PM
Daredevil: Cold Day In Hell #3 wraps up this dystopian tale of Daredevil with a ton of body horror (poor Frank) and bringing a new hero into the light (literally). This was perfect at three issues
August 11, 2025 at 1:40 PM
Amazing Spider-Man #9 sees Peter dealing with the trauma of his beat down from Hellgate. Something’s off about Peter as even MJ revealing she has Venom doesn’t phase him.
August 11, 2025 at 1:38 PM
Comics I read this morning: Spider-Man and Wolverine #3 finds Peter and Logan being hunted in the Savage Land while trying to figure out if Logan really killed Peter’s parents. This is a fun story and the art by Kaare Andrews is fantastic as he really works with the elasticity of Peter’s body.

Wolverines and Deadpool’s gives us all the father/daughter dynamics one would want. It’s fun to see Wade and Logan be actual caring parents amidst all the fighting and slash em ups. The conclusion is coming in the next issue so i suppose this was just a quick mini.

Storm #11 is getting a bit convoluted. There’s a lot going on here and I feel like I’ve missed an issue because it’s so jumpy (I don’t think I did). The art is amazing. Storm is fantastic. But, i just had a rough time with this issue

Comics I read this morning: Uncanny X-Men #19 gives Jubilee her moment. And what a moment it is. I appreciate stories that give one team-member a moment and this issue does a great job of reminding readers at just how badass Jubilee is

Hellverine #9 continues to be a compelling book though the whole Aurora thing feels a bit forced. The Mephisto twist is fun. But part of why I like this book is the hellish art details and this book does not disappoint.

Wolverine #1 is another one of those Chris Claremont-fill-in-the-hole books that have been going around. It’s Claremont writing Wolverine so it’s not terrible, but what may be most interesting is how Claremont frames Kitty post-‘Wolverine and Kitty Pryde’as more of a loose cannon than the X-Men know
August 8, 2025 at 11:16 PM
Savage Wolverine #1 is a print version of the Marvel Unlimited web comic. This actually was a fun story and I love as taken in especially by the art work by Devmalya Pramanik. Great body horror stuff and more commentary on the state of mutants post-Krakoa

Comics I read today: One World Under Doom sees Reed and Doom debate on live tv distracting Victor so that Sue, Natasha, and Wanda can finally find out what’s going on in Latveria. Hijinks ensue and Doom tries to rip Reed apart. Good read as we finally figure out what Doom’s been hiding!
