Interesting choice of photo, is it just because it says "asses" and a big story is about fart smells?

I was sitting right behind them, near some of their parents, and had the same thought. Seemed like the kids were looking for something to chant and be loud about, opted to go for 'ref you suck' because it makes them feel like big kids/adults. Parents should have told their kids to shut it or be nice

Seconds after the whistle blew, Valley FC's keeper in white is taunting the crowd. Classy.

In this case there was multiple people so the $1,110 will be split up and won't reach felony charges (independent of the assault). Let's suppose it was just one kid and no assault, they paint a few big tags, it took them an hour to do and it'll take a city worker an hour to paint gray...FELONY. WTF

Malicious mischief in the 3rd degree is <$750 of damages, a misdemeanor, but for $750-$5000 that is 2nd degree which is a class C felony. Seattle overcharges to paint a wall gray and as a result more people are going to have felony charges rather than misdemeanors...that's fucked up.

Seems like the city inflates the value of damage/repair when it comes to graffiti abatement. Not only are we spending millions on this and we could probably spend a fraction to the same effect, it also means that when we escalate the charges.

Sounds like art to me. Was it nice to go over the mural...no. Is it illegal...yes. Is it aesthetically appealing to make the mural gray...no. Does it being a big gray blob over a mural, with graffiti and the message to share space relevant...yes.

All that being said it doesn't make it not art. This tag in particular is more than just a tag, they added the grey and chose to make it that big of a circle, and they added a message that aligns with the choice of gray. I happen to agree with the message but regardless there was choices made.

Here, I'll go first. I think it's kinda ugly, I don't like gray and the fill is bad especially the top and smaller circles, the tag's line work is a little sloppy at points, I'm not the best a reading graff but what is that first letter, and picking an uneven spot was not a good choice.

Just answer the question.
November 20, 2025 at 5:21 AM
That doesn't answer the question. So for it to be art to you the person who made it needs to call themselves an artist? Also, saying that they would be delusional if they did is incredibly insulting. You're making that judgement off a single tag which you have a predisposed bias toward.

Why not?

I think it would help if the city provided free walls for graffiti artists so that when a mural comes in it's less of a competition for space.

Sharing is caring.
