Thanks Peter. And the corollary on the community health side, is that our already woefully inadequate staff, system, support, stuff, and space that Paul Farmer preached, will be completely decimated.

I would love to participate. I have been a health reformer improving health in partnership with faith communities for decades. I cannot register apparently without providing complete contact information. I am not sure why this is needed. Sorry to miss the webinar.

I agree. He has been out of touch for years. I just shake my head when he speaks. Really sad for Dems at a time when we need action not more talk.

I am saddened, but have more respect for Rhiannon Giddens, “I cannot in good conscience play at The Kennedy Center with the change in programming direction FORCED (emphasis added) on the institution by this new board,” adding that she would not judge any artist who chooses to go on with a show.

Very true! Much progress has actually been made starting in the 1970s. NIH became heavily invested in health disparities research 20 years ago. The present cuts in NIH and CDC jeopardize well established research programs providing better health and hope to millions of marginalized people.

Sadly, America has long been a nation of sick people and ranks 34th in overall health. Chronic illnesses are a way of life for most Americans and have been for decades. Purging the NIH will contribute to even steeper declines in length and quality of life, especially among the poor.

He always backs down when challenged; as a lifelong Democrat I am so disappointed at our party’s response so far. They appear totally disorganized with ineffective leadership.
