I'm a professor at an R1 university. We got a 1.5% raise this past year...and in October HR sent us a note that our healthcare premiums were increasing 7%. So...yah...things are great. And we feel lucky...

In general, the journalism profession had utterly failed us at this time in history. Utterly. There are rare exceptions but not many.
