Tonight, the 12yo learned how to cook his favourite meal - Pork Belly Miso Ramen. He was so proud of it, he served it up for us to eat by candlelight in front of one of his favourite TV shows.

In the latest publishing madness, I had a manuscript returned to me because it scored >15% in a 'similarity test'. On careful inspection, it was mostly matching the published thesis of one of the authors containing the results, and our own previous related study published in the same journal.

Halloumi and Chipotle Wraps for dinner.
While I ate my first one, the 12yo scarfed all the rest of the wraps, so I was just left with filling.
The recipe is in Tw-Eat Together, but I tweaked it with a sprinkling of cumin, smoked paprika and dried oregano.

If you are different, if you have additional educational needs, if you have a disability, Reform probably don't believe you, and certainly don't want you to be a part of mainstream life.

Under the proposed UK immigration rules, Jewish refugees from Nazi Germany would have had bwen reviewed every 2.5 years until the 1960s and once the war was over and Germany 'safe', they all would have been sent back to live in the country, that had recently murdered millions of their fellow Jews.

Down in London for an evening MRI scan. Had to bring 12yo as I had no overnight childcare at home. So once the scan was done, we walked downtown from the hospital for a treat - he was in heaven finding Stranger Things had taken over Primark and KFC!! Always balance something bad with something good.

I was today years old when i learned that in America a 'coffee cake' is actually a cake with a cinnamon crumb designed to be eaten with coffee, not, well, a 'coffee cake', made with (and tasting of) actual coffee.

In this day and age, why are Nobel Prizes limited to three people? Why not simply reward all people that made significant contributions to the discovery? Science is teamwork!

Five years ago today. The (then) 7yo was very wise for his age...
"Do you like going to the woods?"
"Yeah, I love the woods"
"Why do you like the woods?"
"Because its sheltered... sheltered from all the noise... and I like it"
