Are you looking for readers in particular or considering other forms of lit? I've always wanted to be able to assign Antes de Ser Libres by Julia Alvarez. It could be a bridge to En el Tiempo de las Mariposas or the topic of DR in general.

I like that the 2 P's in AAPPL are for Performance towards Proficiency. They aren't fully proficiency but they're also not necessarily topics the students have practiced in class.

I imagine there are few enough tests right now and plenty of raters prepared for the typical April surge that everything is picked up by a rater almost immediately. Then they post overnight, maybe. I don't think they post immediately after a 1st rate anymore.

Yes, raters are supposed to listen to the entire recording. That could be up to 21 min for a Form B. But...they are given 1 prompt at a time (all 3 parts of a speaking topic) & if a form B student shows evidence of advanced on all 3 adv prompts, they may not see the int prompts.

Yes! I bought mine shortly before I conceded into ordering up a size, so I didn't get much of a chance to wear it.

I think it can be a mix. Raters aren't supposed to worry about how it's calculated, but I THINK if all or 2 of the adv prompts only show some evidence of advanced, then it can be I4 and if all int responses fully meet int, then it's also I4.

1 thing to keep in mind is that Int prompts are only scored on how intermediate they are, adv on how advanced they are. If students are getting I1, I2, I3, only listen to the 3 intermediate, not the advanced.

I think it was Emily Huff on the other app who questioned it last April.

I believe it comes down to how the raters rate each prompt & then how those individual ratings turn to final scores. They don't use I1, I2, etc. in the rating process & they don't evaluate the whole student but rather each prompt. It has to be a mix to end as I2-I3

They have post-its to write unfamiliar words and a dictionary in their group for looking up words if they need it (I encourage waiting to see if context clues help).
If they're on their Chromebook, it should be Sora or Word Reference only - no going between tabs & potential distractions.

Our librarians have supported our FVR and added Spanish-language titles to our Sora collection (online e-readers), so my classes have about half reading on their Chromebooks.

Me too - not that one, at least. Yesterday I was trying to figure out the difference between 2 types of Crayola products. I typed v to imply versus, the Google AI helper included the v in the name and described one product with a long name instead of comparison.

Not sure what this girl got into yesterday, but her stomach has been gurgling all day, too, and brother has had double treats all day after she rejects hers. Now she's napping on top of my legs.

Lately, I've done dice chat as a post-reading activity. (From @senoracmt.bsky.social I think)
I used to use them a lot for grammar practice. Ex. 1 roll to discover a subject, 1 for an ending, decide it saber/conocer or ser/estar goes in-between, write a sentence.

I will be there!
