Thanks @moritzfritschle.bsky.social. It was a real privilege to be invited to deliver the first of the #EAAE2025 #EAAE 2025 keynotes. I got to bring together two of my favourite topics, #foodsecurity and #sciencefiction. Bonus was to meet up with former @uniofreading.bsky.social colleagues.

Many trains (& a few buses & boats later), heading home from excellent @eaere.bsky.social‬ 2025 Bergen conference via @efdinitiative.bsky.social at @gothenburg-econ.bsky.social. Now (somewhere on train in Germany) I read that @eurostarnews.bsky.social cable theft might leave me stuck in Brussels!

To those of you who assured me my Deutsche Bahn trains would be late. You weren’t wrong … late to arrive in Dortmund and late to leave …

Heading back from #ISIMIP meeting in Potsdam. Another excuse to post photos from window of #trainnotplane if you can. @eurostarjustin.bsky.social, maybe one day I'll be on your train!

First time visiting Berlin (via #ISIMIP meetings in Potsdam).
Able to plan early enough that #trainnotplane (if you can) is pretty competitive with flying. Quite a few train connections, almost didn't make the final one, but so far so good. As always, wifi patchy in the UK, better on continent ...

I am trying to reduce my flying to one work trip per year (made much easier by Europe's train network). In Asia just now, & saved time, money & CO2 taking the overnight train Beijing to Hong Kong with @aliceleibian.bsky.social @granthamlse.bsky.social. Love a night train! #trainnotplane if you can.

Psyched to be finding so many new climate/environment related bluesky accounts to follow. And … somewhat related (?), my London neighbourhood seems to be rewilding itself …
