Sociologist by birth, weird-ass human by training… Researching religious discrimination | nontheism | microaggressions & pop culture. Coming soon chapter on Father Brown & nontheism
Me in a nutshell:🌱🍽🎤🎨🎬🏳‍🌈♿ Follow ≠ Endorse. Mix of personal + professional.
I thought it was funny and honestly, it was relatable too—albeit in a different context. (Not a writer & don’t have a publisher)

Andrew Greeley, a Catholic priest and sociologist, took it further with his theory of the “religious imagination” which he has alternatively called the “Catholic imagination”. Highly recommend God in Popular Culture & God in the Movies by Greeley.

It is really common for this pace, so I wouldn’t worry too much. My spouse is needing a 3rd cervical spina surgery. However, we decided to wait to see a different surgeon/facility who may be better skilled.

I’m so sorry, I completely relate. I have cried several times over the last several weeks bc of overwork. This reaction makes total sense. I’m working 70+ hours a week, but at least for me there is an end in sight as the semester is nearing the end.

(TBC I’m a sociologist) Honestly, learning how we use epistemology and ontology to guide research makes so much sense to me. (I get being annoyed w/ using them interchangeably bc they really aren’t or believing the definition is diff, it’s not). This is my favorite graphic on research paradigms

It’s in a bunch of restaurants where there are large concentrations of Italians in America. My Italian great-grandparents came to Pennsylvania and it’s in all the Italian restaurants in the city my parents & I were born in.

I watch a lot of British television (part of my research area) & every time, I’m like, what is the obsession with egg cups? It’s because we don’t generally do soft boiled eggs in America. We either fry, scramble, poach, or hard boil them.

I think trying to make us vs them distinctions in this way lessens the fact that all humans are capable of doing terrible things. It is an us/we problem that we need to address. Classifying as “them” makes us feel better, but racism is preventable & treatable, as is learning how to manage anger.

Love Whole Spice! Im partial to the Moroccan collection. It’s the best paprika I have ever had. I will have to try this on my next order!

They were! It also had pickled tomatoes, cukes, green beans, cauliflower, but the beets were the star of the pickled show!
