If I stay up late enough on a Friday night, it almost feels like a three-day weekend.

But then I regret it when Saturday goes by in a sleepy haze.

Student, yesterday: You assign too many problems!
Me: What would a reasonable amount be?
Student: 10.
Me: Good news, then: this unit was an average of 9 a day.

Student, today: I don’t know how to do anything on the test! You didn’t give us enough practice!
Me: You’ve had 3 weeks to master 3 skills…

I hate leaving early when sick because I hate asking for help.

But, at the same time, it’s sort of a compliment in that it takes three people to do only half of my tasks for the day (two teachers to cover two sections and Roberto to pick up Aurora).

And it also explains why I am always exhausted.

There’s nothing that makes me regret all my life choices quite as much as returning to the classroom after a holiday break.

If my husband asks why I’ve been spending so much time in the bathroom lately, it’s because the cat will only sit on my lap if I’m on the toilet. 🤣

I’m having a rough time. I’m overwhelmed by all that needs to be done, causing paralysis as I struggle to even pick somewhere to begin chipping away, which has resulted in things piling up for much longer than I care to admit. I’m embarrassed to share this, but suffering in silence hasn’t helped.

It’s Hot Milk day! Bought all the merch (that’s only barely hyperbolic) and we’re just waiting for the show to start soon.

Having a mini me that looks just like you is wild to watch. Often she acts just like you (e.g. bringing a book to bed), but sometimes she chooses anarchy and builds a Lego set without sorting the pieces first, which reminds you she is, in fact, her own person who can choose to do things (wrongly). 🤣

We are 129mi (~3 hours) from Aurora’s school (we went to the aquarium yesterday) and we have somehow managed to run into a friend from school at a playground.

Apparently, I am not allowed to trust people to do their jobs and, because they’re incompetent, it becomes my responsibility. I can’t do other people’s jobs, though, because I don’t have enough time as it is to do my own job yet that doesn’t seem to be stopping people from expecting me to anyway.

The worst part of finishing a book is having to decide what to read next, especially when it’s a matter of wanting to read all the things.

It’s a crime that it’s pouring rain outside and I only have 60 pages left of my book, but I’ve been stuck at work all day instead of at home with a warm blanket.

I hate my job and whole heartedly regret my career path. 😭

I spent the entire Monday night up with Aurora while she vomited for five hours. I spent the entire Thursday night up alone while I vomited for six hours. It’s now Saturday morning and I finally feel human again.

0/10–Don’t recommend, but I will absolutely do it again for her. 🤣

Don’t have a well-adjusted, likeable kid or you’ll end up at a child’s birthday party every weekend for the foreseeable future. Save yourselves and learn from my mistake as are currently at our sixth birthday party in eight weeks, which, as far as I know, should conclude this birthday season.

My least favorite part of my job is explaining the rules (both legal and site based) to my superiors who not only get paid more than I do but are supposed to be supervising me and ensuring I am in compliance. 🙄
