Another wip. Context wise I have lots of materials where I need to put them all together in a way that adds to the overall look. Most work now is adjustments.

Shots are just the fur aspect I did, the markings and such. The diffuse and the materials, fourth pic is no diffuse to see just the mats.

Here's a little preview of the pbr stuff I've been working on for a long time now. I'm using the occlusion and roughness channels, and then my normal map. The body skin itself is from velour. Hoping I can put together some furry and anime skins for SL soon-ish 🙏

I don't post many off the top opinions on whatever current trends going on, but the male rogue fanart that pops up is so good. I know like next to nothing about the sonic characters but rogue's design as a pretty boy fucks so hard 🥺🥺🥺

I keep procrastinating more than doing actual work, but one of my side ideas I fixated on today is what if Leon was on the Jake body instead of ebody.

insane there's less than 2 mm of space between the gpu and the case fan lol

this vertical gpu mount was so damn hard to put in my tiny as hell case. everything is like a few millimeters from not fitting.
the spacing is even worse when you use the fancy tilt feature but I Had to tilt it because the gpu power cable is directly under the cpu tower.

Looks cool though 10/10 👍

Figured I'd share this as I'm wrapping stuff up.
If you're having trouble with seams, as in your normal map texture is seamless but you're still getting seams. It's the mesh itself causing it. Usually around alpha cut edges.

I've found that overlaying nrm noise on your nrm texture mat helps a lot!

still working on this (lots to add still, trying to get everything in place and then I'll go over each part to smooth things out or lower the effect) but it's still cool to me how transformative normal maps are.

For being just a single texture, it looks like the pecs and such are part of the mesh.

And instead of that crazy guide with all the numbers, with no mirroring means you can just think of the texture offset numbers as Scale at 0.5 to zoom in 50%, and then the tile offset being 0.25 (plus or minus) to move one of the corners into view. 🧵9/12

For the asymmetrical version the texture offsets are more simple with no mirroring. You'll have a baked upper, and lower, but will also need to set a third texture for your Left Side limbs. You'll set the left limbs to use Baked Aux1. Then make a universal layer to use Aux1. 🧵8/12

Also when rezzing the lower body, the legs are shrunk down and hidden in the pelvis. 🤨

You can rez the body even though it has an anti-rez script. It can make editing much easier when you can move the tattoo layers out of the way. After selecting, and stopping the scripts from running you can pick them back up, wear the body, and turn the script back on to get HUD functions back 🧵6/12

Once you set each body part to use it's corresponding baked upper or lower you'll then need to put in the texture offset numbers to tile over to 1 of the 4 textures in your upper and lower textures. You can put the numbers in at the same time you set that part to use BoM. 🧵5/12

To start with setting things up, make a copy of your mesh parts. You can wear the parts or Rez them on the ground to start editing. Match the Baked upper option with your Top half textures, and also match your bottom half textures to the Baked Lower option, also take off any full body alpha🧵3/12

Making a tutorial thread to use texture offsets to make the Aesthetic body compatible with BoM. First of all in order to make this work you need access to your body textures on your pc. You'll need something like Photoshop to align Your textures into 4 corners like this. 🧵1/12

For the aesthetic body, I need more opinions if I can with this being a niche topic. Would it be better to only have to deal with two body textures, an upper and lower that fit into one bom skin, but has to be symmetrical.
Or 3 body textures, so an extra bom tattoo, but can be fully asymmetrical?
