Interestingly enough, this doesn't even filter out the chroma info, so you can see the chroma dots on the image. I guess that would have cost too much for this budget model.

After fiddling with a loose solder connection somewhere in the amplifier circuit (distortion, low volume, no VU meters), it came to life and sounds amazing! Great reception too - this is with no antenna connected. Tape deck, however, is stone dead right now.

Is it Macrovision though? All the Macrovision signals I've seen wete in the vertical blanking section and would fade in and out to mess with the AGC. This was already recorded off TV onto videotape without issue.

YouTube doesn't want to upset the big music labels, and they're willing to let them bully the type of smaller creators who made the site what it is today.

I would have never guessed Teknika was an OEM for that TV. Not in a million years.

The remote for one of those tuner boxes you showed early in the video looks identical to the one for this Viking (Eaton's dept store) branded TV that was fairly common up here in Canada.
