Multiple things can be true at one time. “Defund the police” as a phrase can be stupid and damaging, and you can also agree with the direction or the goals of that movement too. Feds have immunity, that’s what JB is arguing right now. Elbows up.

Federal immunity (for now)

CPD can do crowd control to keep the peace, they can’t directly assist ICE or CBP as far as I know. Pritzker can’t order the CPD, and federal agents have federal immunity (for now) per Pritzker.

The standards should be higher, but writing off every rich person as automatically bad allows rich people to escape accountability. If you’ll never like them because they’re rich, why should they care about you?

JB will continue to care though (from his actions, though he’s imperfect)

He asked people to record evidence of ICE & CBP breaking the law, and I believe they are working on a centralized database to store this evidence for prosecutions later when there is no federal immunity.

It should definitely be an opt-in rather than an opt-out. Primary everyone unless there’s a good reason to keep them.

Yeah, he hasn’t made a public statement about it which is a mistake IMO. The optics are bad and people are running with it as a weapon against him.

Being generous here, there could be multiple valid reasons IMO, but I think the facts on the ground require addressing the issue. I’m a nobody tho.

I wish being Jewish wasn’t seen as a bad thing by some in the Democratic Party. It shouldn’t be. It’s literally just a culture/community/religion.
