Today I finally wrote a brief plot framework of my story (a graphic novel). It's becoming more real with every word, and I'm excited. Though I'm scared af because it requires tons of energy and time I don't really have. But time flies, and I need to start somehow

Late in that day Nika came back to the house.
She couldn't call it home, never.
But this place felt vacant now, and it freed her mind.
Enough to start something new.

Lesson one
Don't do it again
Lesson two
Well... You're going to regret

Nika remembered her as a skinny, almost skeletal teen though she could beat out any bully three times bigger than her or flay a carcass of a fresh-caught prey.
But now Dais looked much stronger and more skilled (in ways Nika didn't want to think about).

Dais moved closer and plopped down beside her.
Nika stopped breathing for a moment. There were some reasons for that. And the main was the most problematic.
Her truth was like an onion and she showed Dais just a couple of layers.

Dais always knew when Nika lied.
She was unsophisticated in plotting, it was written all over her face.
So, now it might be the truth. But Dais still felt a puzzling sense of uncertainty hiding somewhere deep.

This time of the year is pretty traumatic

This change of her mood was familiar to Nika and still totally unexpected.
A visible blush felt like an inferno on her skin.
She didn't know what to say so she told the truth.

This room had a ceiling light bulb, and it lit.
Dais took off her hoodie and sat on a chair.
She took out a cigarette without saying anything, and Nika settled in front of her, felt uneasy.
- Okay. Spit it out. What's the REAL reason you're here?

- Welcome to my shack.
They started walking up the stairs after passing through the unlit living room.
Did this house have no electricity? Or maybe Dais just wanted to add intrigue, who knows.
A kerosene lamp in her hand was glowing like a firefly in the dark.

It worked each time, no matter what the reason it was: a hidden cave, a neighbor tracking, a deer corpse. Nika always fell for these words, that was in her nature.
And Dais knew the button.

Looking at Dais she was hit by a blast from the past.
Nika remembered the moment of their first meeting. In fact, the moment her head met an acorn during her walk in a forest away from grandmother's house.

Dais noticed her from a distance, frowning, ridiculously overdressed, with a big striped scarf hiding a part of her face.
She thought they would be like strangers now.
They were friends.
They were enemies.
But now it felt like they were rivals leading some kind of an invisible battle.

The next day seemed really cold after some nice and warm autumn weeks.
Nika wore as many layers as she could anticipating Dais' taunting reaction.

They made a deal.
Each their own.

Nika couldn't work.
All ideas evaporated.
She spent a lot of time staring at the dull walls. Boring.
Halloween was coming soon, and Nika decided to spend time making some decorations. It was out of despair and boredom but entertained her a bit.
Grandmother would be disappointed.

Dais collapsed in bed without even changing. It was her significant blunder to relax and drink too much at that bar with Nika. She talked too much instead of listening. She has learned nothing new. And Nika seemed the same.
Not good.
At least she didn’t beat anybody this time.

Nika looked at Dais, a bit tipsy.
Ragged clothes, this mischievous smirk, a genuine interest in her. Everything seemed so natural as if all those years hadn't passed.

Nika hoped to talk a bit.
But in half an hour she found herself at this old bar with a pint listening to Dais' careless chatter. However, the bartender was visibly worried about their presence.

Dais had no idea about styles and trends. Her clothes were sturdy and old, and if shredded, it wasn't for fashion's sake.
