Well, it pertains to tv schedule. Each region has difficulty making the time zone difference work for their audiences, thus advertisers. In recent years, scheduling changes have been further disrupted by the PAC-12 destroying itself due to having become an irreparably shitty conference.

I think in many cases and pretty much all conferences these days, there are more pretenders than contenders.

The NCAA system has done a disservice to itself in recent years.
