Today I learnt that Playwright will not treat a tag without href as a link.

Well done

So, apparently it's rare to find a software dev who can efficiently translate and switch between "Developer" "Designer" "Product Owner" "C-Level" and "Normal humans" dialects.

There is no such thing as a "simple" 40 fields form.

Just had classic moment of a typo destroying your code...
I found it by manually comparing code one line at a time over 2 days.

I thought AI coding assistance was suppose to be able to help me quickly find crap like this. It certainly did not, and kept suggesting some very useless stuff

Today I learnt that adding double spaces as the end of a line in markdown render as a line break.

At least, it does on Eleventy's nunjucks templating...

Yes sure, we shouldn't use line break all that often.
But address new line is a perfectly legitimate scenario. Surely.

I've clocked 50+ hours into this restaurant management game... And only just found out that I could buy equipment upgrades at least 25 hours ago!

It's hidden in a tab of a floating UI. GRRRRRRRR

I left my job after almost 7 years yesterday.
It's early afternoon…

Do I catch up on life admin, play games, or go for that healthy walk?

Just discovered inbento.

Such an adorable puzzle game! Perfect as a short casual play to wind down. Interesting, but not much time commitment ❤️

My new personal laptop has arrived!

So happy to be able to customise it, and be free from corporate lock restrictions. I can now use my external hard drives & access RODE Pro wirelwas mic storage 😭

Now, how to arrange these stickers…

I told people at work that I'm leaving, and they can continue to follow my writing on clarified.dev.

15+ sign up is more than enough motivation for a burnout soul. I thought I'd be lucky to get 5 😭

Appreciating my colleagues so much right now.

Thanks to my mate Steve, I now have a go-to-clip for when I want a laugh or review my talk structure 🤣

As my last day at work approaches… I’m very tempted to create a set of lint rule, automate PR of it to all codebases in the company, hand my laptop over then leave.

But may be not. Tech community is rather small, and I ain’t got many bridges left to burn

I've been told that my spicy internal blog posts are only spicy to those with context. Otherwise it reads like a reasonable post.

How flattering. Now if only I can figure out how to do that consciously...

"You can't bake a cake without breaking a few eggs"

I'm getting tired of this saying from proponents of "move-fast n break-things" mentality.

You can actually bake a cake without eggs at all. Flax seeds is a perfectly normal vegan substitute.

Our retro regularly run overtime. This one ran short.

"Interesting, we don't have much to talk about in today's retro"

"It's the first sprint in a long time, where we don't have to pivot half way"

"Oh. Right"

"Don't worry, next sprint we'll be back to normal"

😅 🥲

So I was sorting through speaker photos from @nztechrally.bsky.social 2023... And realised that it's sooo hard to get nice photo of someone public speaking!

I suppose as a speaker, you just have to give up on that. I rarely get a good shot myself. When it happens, it's a miracle 😅

This time last week, I was nervously reviewing my slides in the staff & speaker green room at @dddmelbourne.bsky.social

Thank you organisers and volunteers, for giving me the space to hide before my talk, and for making the speaking experience memorable with these thoughtful gifts!

I do like coming into the office, to find free instrument for whacking fragrant buttered steaks. Or someone after an awful meeting...

That aside, this is enough rosemary to supply a steakhouse.

Thanks, owner of a clearly gigantic rosemary bush, for this morning's giggle
