The final strip in @timebombcomics.bsky.social Quantum #12 is “The very strange reappearance of Peter Thomson” again a brilliant story from Dave West. One that keeps you hooked. Gustaffo Vargas’ art is a perfect match for this tale, just like the Vertigo or Crisis mags I used to read.

Space Banshee Exorcist by Katie Cunningham and Danielle Wiebe has become a grower since part one in issue eleven. I like Katie’s sideways look at mortality/the after life and such. Her “Death and Taxes” in earlier issues of Quantum were excellent. I hope that series makes a return.

A one & done Westernoir was another hi-light. Dave West’s story “Lure for a monster” was fantastic as you would expect. I wasn’t sure about Mal Earl’s style of artwork at first, but goodness me it fitted the tale like a glove. I’ve backed WesterNoir Tales on kickstarter in early October. Can’t wait!
