What a strange and entirely unexplainable coincidence!

Here's hoping for hitting the less disappointing occasions then. 🥂

I really hope you get to look forward soon to something good, although I know right now is a particularly rough time for that.

😕 Yeah, zen calm can come from enlightenment, but it can also come from depression or pessimism. I think a lot of my pre-transition life was me thinking the latter two were the former. It's still something I'm unsure of sometimes.

That sounds like a more healthy way to look at it than mine, tbh. Very zen. :) It's how I treat most things. Accept the things I cannot change, and all that. But transition is the exception to that for me, and I'm not quite sure why yet.

I feel that a lot too. I don't want to be cis. I only want there to be a version of transition that can do more, faster, more simply. And it feels barely out of reach, because I'm so sure it could exist. What we do today *is already* more, faster, more simply than it was 100 years ago.

High Frontier 4 All is a board game that has you industralizing and settling the system. Unfortunately, it's made by a total asshole. But I'm with you, that level of one-solar-system/many-planet setting is woefully underserved. I want more!

Was going to say it's only the 2nd funniest, but apparently lots of people on this site were already way ahead of me on the "I am hearing on his deathbed Trump received the light of Islam" posting.

Same here. People i follow i can usually keep track of because there's continuity there, but anyone i only see in replies occasionally? Hopeless. They change their pic, they're a brand new person to me. 😅

Oh sweet, it does respect .mailmap. I have a few commits to make.
November 20, 2025 at 5:53 PM
It looks like it has a "gitlens.currentLine.format" setting that lets me cut out the name part of the inline. But that's a bit of a blunt instrument. Respecting a remap would be better if it's possible.

OK, but actually. I managed to get my ruler married to a neighbor's ruler so their child could form a personal union, and then he got a random courtier pregnant! So now that kid is the father's heir, but not his wife's, and even if he has a kid with her later, it'll still split the titles. 🤬

But I think the last 3 unadapted books are a really great conclusion, to the point that I feel like the show wraps things up mostly, and stops at a find point, but doesn't really have an ending, if that makes sense.

It's so good! I loved it so much!

Nothing matches it, but I think the first few seasons of For All Mankind came close for me.

I can definitely recommend the books. It was a relatively close adaptation, and I did Season 1 -> Books -> Rest of show, so don't know how it would feel to retread stuff,
November 19, 2025 at 10:37 PM
Oh no. I think you just made me realize I do a variant of that sometimes. 😑

The "Oh you know the ones" tweet really nailed one particular type of internet poster. Up there with "firebomb a walmart" and "private taxi for your burrito".

I liked it. :) All we can do ourselves is live our best lives, and if someone wants to show their rebel cred by suppprting-ish us and being sincere, I say let them, whether it's a show or not.
