Halo CE was an amazing game, but after playing through Halo 2 my mind was opened as to what gaming was even capable of. Not just as entertainment but as a storytelling medium. The only games I had played before that had a super extensive story was Pokemon Ruby. But Halo 2 was pure cinema.

It depends based on what exactly is going on with your pc. when you play ffxiv, what resources are being taken up most in your task manager?

That sounds to me like there might be either some hardware problem preventing your computer from running at full capacity, or something else is taking up resources away from FFXIV
