I too loathe religion. But many unhappy people are terrified of death, so ain't gonna become atheists. I increasingly think a better strategy is to try and nudge such people towards the kind of 'anti-revealed-texts' DEISM Thomas Paine advocated, and was cancelled for.

No-one would be making this huge fuss about harrassment if it was catholicism or scientology being protested in such a 'confrontational' way... and islam is a voluntary belief system, NOT an ethnic identity.

Yeah, it's gut wrenching that so much of the left has adopted an almost religious, puritanical obsession with performative, self absorbed moralizing purity, rather than a pragmatic approach to acheiving ethical objectives. This from someone who absolutely shares the normal left justice objectives.

The Lewes Pounds were one of the rewards in the crowdfunder that made this Paine bio possible... sad to see them go! Harvey's were very supportive, too.
