Today I tried this course from the MIT called "Speak Italian with your mouth full". These are recordings of the class/seminar the gave in 2012 for a class of 12 students from physics, maths or other similar majors. + 🇮🇹🇮🇹🇮🇹🇮🇹

"Duolingo is still great for beginners" bruh it's addictive while being ineffective, that's the worst combination.
It's getting you started with being addicted to Duolingo and *not* learning a language on your own terms and at your own pace. (A pace that *needs* to be faster than Duo's)

My point with my logs is that when I achieve a proficiency and cool level in Italian and some tells me "oh you are just good at languages" or "how did you do it?" Or "how much time will it take me to speak Italian?". I'll print this log and send it to them like 👀👀👀 A LOT. IT TAKES A LOT.

The most common misconception is that you either "know" a language or you don't.
There are at least three different vectors of language ability: vocabulary, grammar, and accent. Accent matters least unless yours is so bad you can't be understood. All three are *spectra,* not on/off binaries.
