In Scotland, we have our own form, a staple of every baker and pie shop. Macaroni cheese in an actual pie casing. It's beautiful.

And, I was taught, growing up, to always put macaroni cheese in the oven. Crispy edges and a firmer texture.

A beautiful calico cat, staring intently at the camera with her most kittenish expression, in the hope of being given tuna, but possibly also debating if the phone taking her picture could be destroyed. Do not be fooled by the innocent expression, for she is a hunter of spiders and rodents, and almost certainly a minor chaos goddess. Perhaps not a minor goddess.

I already had the first volume. Pictured below is my second copy, as my mum nicked my first!

I have a framed print of this where the first light of day falls on it, with Dusk on the opposite wall. They're wonderful pieces, and always attract attention frim visitors.
Art of Dawn, and Dusk, depicted as women bringing the changes of light through the sky, over the landscape and communities below. The artist is Serena Malyon. Dawn is blonde, wearing a fiery golden cloak, still partly in shadow, swooping over mountains amd lighting up the sky above a lakeside village. Dusk is a dark-haired queen of the night, wearing a crown, with a bejewelled cloak or veil that is covering the sky over a village amongst rolling hills.

Last month, I went old school, and bought a 67 year-old thing of beauty. I'm using it for first drafts, as I effectively rewrite everything for the second draft anyway. It's helping me avoid Digital Distractions (c), and my output has increased threefold.
A 1957 Olivetti Lettera 22 typewriter, olive-coloured, with a sheet of paper loaded onto the roller, ready to type. The type sits in its original carry case. Behind the typewriter, is a print of a Thomas Joseph painting, with a countryside scene of the Antrim hills, a whitewashed house, and (out of sight, covered by the upper part of the carry case) some ewes and a donkey. Both are things of beauty.

Had a wonderful day with friends at 🏳️‍🌈Pride In Moray🏳️‍⚧️, in the lovely town of #Forres, North-East Scotland🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿. Smaller #Pride events can be really good, with a great community feel. Still a good 200 - 300 people whilst I was there. Well-organised too.

We lost this beautiful wee man today, only 18 months old. He just went downhill in 8 weeks, with bladder issues and chronic pain. The vet couldn't find the cause.

I love the difference a harbour wall makes to the state of the water. Even in a storm, the inner harbour remains pretty calm. Today was nothing more than slightly elevated swells.

It was a nice peaceful walk by the sea, getting away from the storms of life at the moment.

I've just finished rewatching #WynonnaEarp over a three week period, and am more than ever convinced of the need for a Christmas Special on the Haught-Earp homestead.

A red-headed sheriff and her wife protecting the town's humans and demons. And, I think I've found the perfect crossover!

Today, I went back up one of my favourite hills, Bennachie. It's good to be back.
