My TCM schedule has Cinema Paradiso listed on Friday Jan 16, 7pm CST.
Some refer to this film as "overly sentimental". I always found that assessment somewhat confusing - both laughable & kind of sad. Sentiment yes, but sentimental? Hm.

The screenplay is tight - it jumps right in & every scene is pertinent to the story. It's a bit of an incredible film & if it was made today ... well, someone's beans being spilled ... is entirely coincidental.
