Once again, Del finds herself in trouble. Not just with city security, but with time itself...
(Also, that's 8 Martian years, so she's 16 in this memory, in case you were worried.)

A little bit of a spoiler. But I think it's the type of spoiler that you won't really know was a spoiler until you get to it, at which point it won't be a spoiler anymore. Maybe.

The logistics of water supply in the asteroid belt. Because isn't that what most people want to read about when your protagonist is taking a shower?

I don't know if I've ever seen the word used as a verb before, let alone used it that way myself.

1. The League of Nations
2. The United Nations
3. The Earth Global Council.

I hate using the word "decelerate" just because of the inaccuracy, but all of my beta readers were confused when I said a ship was accelerating away from Ceres while approaching it, which is how it actually works.

My first drafts are done long hand, then typed into the computer. I'm going to have to get more in soon or I'll run out of excerpts. The first three I looked at with "spend" in them, I'd already used. :)

Three black things in this image by @aureolinflax.bsky.social of a scene from Thoughtless: The walls of Del's carbonaceous asteroid home (that she's hung colorful scarves over to make it feel less oppressive), space itself (seen out the window) and their BeltSec uniforms.
