Vampire Survivors

Haven't finished the DLC yet but have finished the base game, and oh my god this is so much more fun than it has any right to be!! So incredibly simple yet has just enough depth to keep you coming back. The process of unlocking everything is also extremely satisfying.

Star of Providence
Rating: 9

Insanely fun roguelite, manages to combine a lot of elements from other games in the genre I enjoy while still feeling very tightly-designed. Really easy to just get into a flow state with this one. Reminds me of Downwell in that way despite playing nothing like it lol

Peggle Deluxe / Peggle Nights
Rating: 7.5 (Deluxe), 8 (Nights)

Lumping these together because I don't have much different to say about them lol. They're both just overall very solidly-designed and satisfying games. Nights gets an extra 0.5 for the more interesting theming and level design though.

Genuinely, the way the lyrics are written are the type of thing I'd normally find corny I feel, BUT they're just sung with so much raw passion and with such an incredible instrumental backing that it dodges that completely and becomes the coolest thing ever

Akira in SFV definitely comes to mind. Which is a shame because Project Justice is super fun!!

WOW this is infuriating to read. I truly, sincerely hope that other provincial governments don't start following suit because that is some malicious, totalitarian bullshit. It's always under the guise of "protecting children" too, when the only thing it protects is fragile conservative egos. :/

Finally played the last of Shu Takumi's VNs that I hadn't played yet, and surprise, IT'S ANOTHER BANGER! It's insane how well this game delivers on its concept. Genuinely feels like the best possible story that could have been told with this setting.

Wilmot Works It Out
Rating: 7.5

Super chill game and a fun little follow-up to Wilmot's Warehouse. Just a cozy time, simple and low stakes. The dialogue is also very fun and I like how it tells a bit of a story in the background. Good stuff!
