Instead of over-engineering a solution for a problem that only costs us a few minutes a week, we decided to wait. We will build a proper artifact promotion portal later when the pain becomes real.

We agreed that our current flow is "good enough." It has friction. It requires the occasional rebase. But it works.

It’s easy to get stuck trying to architect the "perfect" deployment pipeline that handles every edge case. But while you are debating the workflow, you aren't shipping the product.

We can always build the "Enterprise Storage Service" later when we have terabytes of data. Today, we focus on value.

We decided we can start with a simple standard microservice with two endpoints - one to upload and one to retrieve the file. Then, when the time comes, it will be easy to add signed URL file uploads, image file manipulations, auto cleanups, etc, etc.

Then we stopped and asked: What does the user actually need right now?

They just want to drag a PDF into the chat and have the AI read it. They don't care about our backend architecture.

We aren't building another chatbot. We are building agents with tool-calling capabilities. The future isn't about having a conversation with a computer. It is about assigning a task and having it done correctly.

Her reaction changed instantly. She said "I need this. The other tools I use are just giving me text. This is giving me answers."

That is the shift we are seeing.
