🦕 Time for a new paleo-devlog! This time, I implemented a time controller, I put ichtyosaurs into the bay, made a peak-like health-hunger-disease-wound-bar, and added buttons to feed the ichtyosaurs🐬

Two months ago I took part to the #DINOJAM. The theme was ‘Underwater’, so I developed a marine reptile tycoon game. The result was… underwhelming 😅

So when I learnt about the #ContinueYourGame jam, I decided to give it another go. Read the first devlog here: pleistogames.itch.io/aquasauria-p...

A little late for the #EuropeanHeritageDays but still: Plesiosaurs are among the most iconic mesozoic marine reptiles of Europe. The first plesiosaur was discovered in 1821 by Mary Anning - a talented fossil huntress and major contributor to paleontology.

Somehow, the flappy-bird moves of Diplocaulus in pleistogames.itch.io/cisuralian-c... are based on real science! Back in 1980, Cruickshank and Skews used a replica and a wind tunnel to show that tilting the head up while facing the current would propulse it upwards ⤴️

Cisuralian Cruise is a free spooky arcade game where you play as a young Diplocaulus, swimming your way through the dangers of the Early Permian. The last update is live at pleistogames.itch.io/cisuralian-c..., and my Dimetrodon is starving to meet you!

I am away from home until Sunday... but I've not skipped a single #GMTKjam since 2022, so let's make a super small game fitting the theme, featuring extinct species and a reasonable amount of science - all that within 1 actual day!
