Nationalism adapts to it's environment. For example, though Mussolini was an antisémite, eradication of the Jewish people was not part of his platform because Italians weren't vehement antisemits. On the other hand Germany's antisemitism was way more virulent, so Hitler made it a key element.

Particularly since the same ideas are gaining yesterday in Poilievre's gang. Yesterday I read three comments of the "immigrants will destroy our culture variety". Trumpers believe in the great replacement, and so do Canada's National Conservatives.
