We hope that we will soon be able to hug her – after more than five years in prison.

Today, we are presenting the web sound installation selected through Open Call platformB.

With the addition of composer Georgia Koumará and animation filmmaker Monika Nuber, the project has evolved into a multimedia world of poetry, colour and sound, full of playfulness, depth and courage.

For each of the 34 letters, they found an emotional exclamation and transformed it into a story through whimsical poems by Vera and fantastic comic drawings by Kastuś.

Poet Vera Burlak and her 19-year-old son Kastuś Žybul, who lives with autism, have created something unique: 'ABC der Ausrufe' (The ABC of Exclamations), an artistic interpretation of the Belarusian alphabet.

»𝗪𝗔𝗡𝗗𝗘𝗥𝗜𝗡𝗚 𝗥𝗢𝗢𝗧𝗦« is a virtual gallery presenting recent artistic projects and initiatives by Belarusian authors exploring migration, memory, identity, and borders through the lens of nature and field research.

𝗔𝗕𝗖 𝗱𝗲𝗿 𝗔𝘂𝘀𝗿𝘂𝗳𝗲 (»ABC of Exclamations«) is an artistic interpretation of the Belarusian alphabet by poet Vera Burlak and her son Kastuś Žybul, who lives with autism.

These layered stories rarely enter family archives. Longing, mismatched expectations, burnout, forgiveness, and fragile trust often remain unspoken.

The existence of people in exile is almost always mediated by their families: we leave them behind with little hope for reunion, flee together and watch relationships transform under pressure, or form new bonds – through unexpected love or pragmatic necessity.

From independent studios to experimental spaces, art cafés, and temporary initiatives, each location is brought to life through memories, impressions, and creative interventions.

We are pleased to present you BlauMap – the next open call project of platformB, to be completed this autumn.

BlauMap is a living digital map of artistic experiences, shaped by personal routes, places, and stories shared by artists.

Talks with artists such as Vera Burlak and Zofia Ewska will discuss backgrounds, creative processes and digital forms of expression.

The platformB.art programme at the »𝗗𝗘𝗥 𝗦𝗢𝗠𝗠𝗘𝗥 𝗜𝗡 𝗦𝗧𝗨𝗧𝗧𝗚𝗔𝗥𝗧« festival provides an insight into artistic work in exile.

For three days, poetic, political and personal digital works will be presented on theatre monitors.

On 21 June 2025, Siarhei Tsikhanouski and 14 other political prisoners were released from detention in Belarus. What had long seemed impossible has now become a reality.

This release demonstrates that: Diplomacy works when human life is prioritised.
