To complete the full picture of the range of games that I play, here is the recently played list from my Switch 2 as well
Hard rule for myself, have to stop playing games like resident evil or silent hill 2 after 10pm. No more after that 😆

How come nobody ever told me that Mr. Game & Watch is in DCKR?

Looking at my lineup of “unfinished” games that I genuinely want to wrap up…

Donkey Kong Country Returns HD
Silent Hill 2 remake
Ace Attorney: Dual Destinies
Hyrule Warriors Age of Imprisonment
Yakuza 0

I think I could probably clear out a good chunk of those in February. Not gonna rush though.

The older I get, the more I appreciate the Donkey Kong Country games (including Returns and Freeze) compared to most of the 2D Mario games. I appreciate the challenge and vibes in a way that I didn't when I was younger / less patient with dying repeatedly / less experienced with big monkey logic

Tried to be real with myself. I have several games in my rotation that I'm genuinely still enjoying, and there will be even more PS Plus / NSO surprises by the end of the month.

Going to focus on enjoying what I already have right now and clear the runway for RE9 to dominate the first half of March
RE9 is the fixed nexus point of my gaming calendar.
Counting down the days to it.

So I have 3 weeks to fill between now and then.

I could play nothing but games I own to fill that gap...

...or take advantage of some sweet deals that went up...

...or go deep into PS plus...

Choice paralysis!

Getting further into Silent Hill 2

Streaming show previews have their place, but I feel like you should never be shown a preview while hovering over something in your “keep watching” list.

I already started the show. I don’t need to be sold on it.

Let me have it all queued up to watch and start without blasting me with a trailer.

Am I the first person on your feed to have finished Balloon Kid since it dropped on NSO? Probably.

Am I the first person on your feed to have posted about Balloon Kid and Silent Hill 2 on the same day? Definitely 😆

The four types of levels in DKCRHD

Levels where I get all the KONG letters and puzzle pieces on the first go

Levels where I go back to get the ones I miss

Levels where I’m content to just get the KONG letters and move on

And of course, the levels I just feel lucky to have beaten 😂

I had to remap the map button to touchpad in Silent Hill 2 remake to match Resident Evil 7 and 8.

That said, shoutout to the map in Silent Hill 2 remake.
I love how your actions impact the map. Bump into dead end? Scribbled out. Locked? Thick red line. Weird thing? Question mark to check out later.

Jokes aside, it's funny that there is just enough space on the Switch 2 internal storage (roughly 230gb) for you to have FF7 Remake (90gb) and Rebirth (102gb) installed at the same time (192gb). They should release a special Final Fantasy 7 Edition Switch 2 that comes with them both pre-installed 😂
Very proud of FF7 Rebirth for losing 50gb ahead of the Switch 2 launch. I know that’s not easy to do. Takes a lot of hard work and dedication. 💪

I'm pretty picky about the games I buy these days so I don't have many answers to this question from the last few years.

I did regret that Pokémon Friends game; I was expecting some brain teasers with cute themes and it ended up being "Baby's First Puzzles featuring Pokémon"

Was only $10 at least!

Quite enjoyed the Pragmata demo. I think I'll be keeping on eye on this one close to launch! The core "hack while you shoot" mechanic is very mentally satisfying.

Also, pretty impressed by the Switch 2 version. Runs very fluidly and makes great use of the rumble and handheld speakers.

Silent Hill 2 called out to me tonight.
I put a couple hours into it via PS+ last year but then it got left behind in the deluge of November / December games.

Started it back up and made some good progress. 👀

If they ever make a new Ace Attorney game, my first choice would be Capcom tapping back into that beautiful Apollo Justice / Miles Edgeworth collection art style.

My second choice? They use the RE engine and let investigations be fully first-person as you collect evidence and examine things.

My son has been watching the various "racket" videos on Nintendo Today for Mario Tennis Fever.

I'm glad he likes the clips.

Personally, they're turning me off from the game.
Maybe I'm getting old but "get frozen or crushed by thwomps when you hit the ball" just sounds annoying at this point haha

Had this thought for a while and had to write it down

(you could probably stretch a few more similarities into the comparison if you tried, but these all came naturally)

Wrapped up Resident Evil 8 Village.
Such a good game. Glad I finally got the chance.

Definitely recommend playing 7 before 8 if you get the opportunity but both games are excellent.

Can’t wait for RE9. Excited to see this level of atmosphere and polish from 7/8 applied to apocalyptic raccoon city

little nuances of english slang are so weird

like if you say "Megan is the GOAT" at work, you're hyping her up

but if you say "Megan is a goat" at work, you're probably talking to HR later that day

This post was brought to you by me playing RE7 and RE8 back to back.
I’m starting to be convinced that 10-20 hour games are the perfect length.
