the fate of writing that wants to write about oppression but doesn't follow through with those fighting back because the writing doesn't fundamentally understand how power structures work. so it all unspools as it tries to follow the original wizard of oz after that

i wouldn't be surprised but also i think it's just. very poor decisions in directing and not understanding how lighting works since it's easier to just have underpaid cgi people do it than hire union lighters

you get the people who worked on wicked AND the wiz and then decide "nahhh badly lit rooms and sunbeams only"

also i hope the set and costume people tear apart whoever made those lighting and camera decisions

i only vaguely remember the musical from a stitched together version of musicals and was wondering why i didn't remember the ending very well and

also saw wicked pt.1 recently and while i would love to rewatch that for all the huuuuuuuge amount of production work unfortunately the camera and lighting work means you can't see any of it u_u
