I’m not from Maine & I like Platner & am sending donations to him. The reason I think we like him is because he has no voting record; he’s not a part of the establishment. Janet Mills is a tough woman, she stood up to trump, but she’s already 77 & would be 83 at the end of just 1 term.

Exactly 🤬 damned coward. I’m from small town rural NM & I was so excited about Mamdani & I donated a good chunk to his original campaign coffers & then to the grassroots PAC set up for him. I’m so glad he won.

Yes, he does. I call my 2 Dem senators regularly & tell them they need to call a vote for a new leader. Lujan is a newbie so doesn’t have much power, but Martin Heinrich has been in the Senate for at least 12 yrs, maybe 18 so he should have some clout

Schumer didn’t cave, but neither was he able to keep these 10 in line. They negotiated the terms without him.

Schumer stayed firm on his No vote, but he was unable to whip these 10 into sticking with the caucus. Apparently these 10 negotiated with the Eepubs without him.

I get it, I’m very angry & demoralized, but we absolutely cannot give up. I think everyone should go on Substack & read Jack Hopkins story about the 17 yr old sailor who survived after the Indianapolis got sunk, & he & 315 others survived 4 days & 5 nights in shark infested waters.

Schumer voted No, however he couldn’t manage to keep these other 10 together with the Democratic caucus, & that shows him to be an ineffectual Minority Leader. As much as some people disliked Nancy Pelosi, this kind of thing never would have happened under her leadership, had she been a senator.
