And who knows, Pan may well have been identified with more local gods and spirits in ways not reflected in the written record.

Great question! My understanding is that Pan becomes associated with the Wild Hunt in modern witchcraft, an association that makes sense mythically and archetypally, but I don't think this connection can be verifiably dated to ancient times.
