Growing up in DC and PG country was a blessing b/c not only did I have a strong Black foundation at home I saw Black people everywhere doing everything! Looking, speaking, dressing, and expressing in a number of ways! I took it for granted at first but not everyone grows up w that.

I got the "talk white" thing much of my life but it wasn't something that ever excluded me from certain circles. It used to annoy me, not b/c of the observation, but that the observation was that I was articulate and that equalled white. I'd have preferred they said anything but white frfr 😭
