And that is a problem. Because from the perspective of the rich and powerful we need the poor. And we need them to be poor. Because all economics boil down to is the distribution of scarcity.

This reminds me of the film version of The Time Traveller's Wife had a quartet playing Love Will Tear Us Apart as the couple got married as a romantic scene. I had to watch the film 3 times for work and on the third time I just left the room for a couple of minutes so I didn't have to hear it again.
