That's Jr. High in the 80's but painted like the makeup people put on their toddlers for toddler pageants.

Lol thats a bummer too. Your eyes will likely now be on guard for future errors/oversights for the rest of the novel. Happened to me once when I was a kid and the main characters bike morphed from a BMX bike to a mountain bike on a sunny afternoon ride. I didnt get more than a couple chapters after.
